Another class down in my journey, through the new media journalism program at Full Sail University. This was my Digital News Production class. I had many obstacles to overcome healthwise these forward, four weeks, but I pushed through. My instructor was very supportive and helpful with everything.

Hey, coming into the class I expected to gain an in-depth knowledge of the video, shooting an editing process by doing so I would put that knowledge into original exciting work and create compelling stories. The class met my expectations perfectly. We were taught various programs from iMovie to adobe rush just to name two of them to edit our new stories with..

My favorite contact I created, was my story about the fans getting to play on the Milwaukee Admirals ice at the arena, prior to an AHL playoff game. I titled this "Memories Frozen Forever on Ice". I enjoyed it because I am an avid hockey fan, and it gave a neat perspective by showing an experience to many fans that may have dreamed that they could play on the same ice as the professionals do. It was a very exciting atmosphere.

Two areas come to mind immediately that needed strength during this class. First with my time management skills, but as stated, most of that was health related, but still did not help with stress levels and meeting deadline. And secondly, I need to keep in mind to take more footage than I feel was necessary so possibly I can use it for a follow up story, or to splice in areas that I may have thought I had enough footage but didn't.

Hey Siri, this class has prepared me careerwise with cutting edge top of the line, digital news, production software. It has shown me how to write compelling original stories that will be newsworthy. It also showed me that newsworthy doesn't mean it has to be to everyone because even some niches it is important to cover stories for.

Graduation is February for me so I am in the homestretch. This journey has been amazing taught me a lot about myself and the production of news.
