Legal Aspects in the Media

We often do not realize when thinking about creating content and writing new stories, all the red tape must be cut through sometimes to produce these legally. I just finished my legal aspects of the media class at Full Sail. It touched upon the aspects of the media laws Had to be expanded with all the electronic means of communicating and sharing information. This we are complex process to decide whether the traditional media laws apply to the Internet. First amendment protects all types of speech, so it played a big part in this class overall. You examine legal issues in the context of the current technologies and looking at the future trends. It is definitely different than my traditional legal media classes from my undergraduate degree many years ago. The Internet was literally just starting back then if I would’ve known now I would Monday when I know now, I would have jumped all over the new classes that was leaning towards digital work, but I didn’t and here we are. I really enjoyed does Clara numerous reasons. Anyone that knows I am all about anything that is constitutional law related such as First Amendment Cases. We discuss First Amendment rights and media law, including libel and slander, privacy, as well as ethical dilemmas faced by media professionals. Finally, students will examine these legal issues in the context of current technologies and future trends. ]

There were major takeaways from this class. How high was able to learn how to do a freedom of information act request from beginning to end the whole procedure and the fee and how to do the waivers. This is going to be very important for me soon for some personal stuff that I’m going to be working on. It’s strengthened my ability to analyze judicial opinions. I did a year of law school about six years ago but had to drop out due to a car accident. I am intrigued by and would like to finish law school at some point. This class was a nice class to bring me back in closer to legal studies. Also, I gained an understand the importance of copyright law and the advantages of registration
