I just finished up my second class in the New Media Journalism program at Full Sail University, which was writing for interactive media. From this class my main takeaways were learning proper format for and how to write effectively for publications. I was able to identify story elements that my target audience would find interesting and valuable information from. My Content focus can be taken and developed from an idea into actual story written. This story was able to be published on the web and social media. It taught me how to use databases and infographics to help enhance my writing. I am now able to recognize proper use and types of story angles and explain how to create an effective lead and eye-catching headline.
This class taught me how to build a good relationship between me and the author the idea of the story I have and conveying it properly to the audience. I can now publish an edit Content to use on the web and social media platforms. I’m able to analyze review and critique different forms of writing for the web for storytelling. I am now able to conduct good interviews with people that help strengthen my stories and add a personal touch to it. I’m able to explain how many different forms of media there is to make a story.
Professionally this class has laid the foundation for me to build upon and taught me the proper techniques of writing for new media journalism. I have a strong grasp on how to write the stories along with distribute them. I now need to work on my Network of people to use for interviews and to distribute my work. What is the name of this This was a very enriching class, and I will strive to make every story that I write better than the one before. I look forward eagerly to using these skills professionally and onto my next class.
